Pointe Prep Assessment Request Form
Thank you for your Interest. Each assessment request is reviewed carefully to ensure the program is the right fit for your dancer at this time. I will review the information provided and may request a short video of your dancer demonstrating basic ballet movements (such as first position demi-plié, tendu à la seconde, and relevé). I will reach out via email if any additional information is needed. Once the review process is complete, you will be notified regarding acceptance for the next step of the assessment.
Age & Training Requirements
Pointe Prep and assessment applications are accepted from dancers ages 9 and older who have completed a minimum of two years of consistent ballet training.
Training must consist of structured ballet classes and does not include pre-ballet, creative movement, or introductory dance programs.
Step 1: Assessment Request
Families complete the online assessment request form, which provides background information about the dancer’s training, experience, and goals.
Step 2: Additional Information (If Needed)
After reviewing the form, I may request additional information, such as a short video of the dancer demonstrating foundational ballet movements. This helps ensure the assessment phase is appropriate for the dancer at this time.
Step 3: Initial Assessment Phase
If accepted, the dancer will be invited to participate in the initial assessment phase. This phase allows me to more closely observe technique, strength, alignment, and readiness.
Step 4: Program Placement Decision
Following the initial assessment phase, a determination will be made regarding whether ongoing training with DMC Dance Co is recommended. Not all dancers will move forward beyond the assessment phase, as placement is based on individual readiness, well-being, and program fit.
